Welcome to the Sacred Char Dham Yatra

India is home to a vast number of holy and sacred places. Of which the Uttarakhand Char Dhams are the most well-known. Yamnotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath are the four Garhwal region temples that are part of the Chardham Yatra. The districts of Yamnotri and Gangotri are included in Uttarkashi. They are devoted to the rivers Ganga and Yamuna, respectively. The Rudraprayag district’s Kedarnath is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The final stop on the Chardham Yatra, Badrinath, is located in the Lord Vishnu-centered Chamoli area. The temples are open for business for around half of the year.

Yamunotri

Located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, Yamnotri is the first house of devotion during the Chardham Yatra. Since this is where the Yamuna River begins, the temple is devoted to it. It is said that a plunge in this sacred water atones for all misdeeds. Having a "Prasadam" (a little dish made with cooked rice and potatoes) at Suryakund, a hot spring, is a crucial ritual performed while visiting the temple. A devotee might begin their journey to the temple by walking or riding a pony from Janki Chatti. There is a tough 5-kilometer hike.

Gangotri

Gangotri Dham is visited after Yamnotri. The goddess Ganga is the focus of the Gangotri temple. It is the location where the Ganga River descends from Heaven to Earth. Since devotees are dropped off at the temple's main entrance, it is quite easy to get to. The place's natural beauty is another thing that draws visitors from all over the world

Kedarnath

The most prominent attraction at Char Dham in Uttarakhand is the Kedarnath temple, which is located in the Rudraprayag district. Lord Shiva is the recipient of this. It is among India's twelve Jyotirlingas. It's a picturesque scene, with the captivating vista of the Himalayas and the close flowing Mandakini River. The journey begins in Gaurikund and lasts roughly 19 miles. Just Kedarnath has a lot to offer, including adventure, scenic views, and mental tranquility.

Badrinath

Lord Vishnu, the Hindu deity, is the dedication of the Badrinath temple, which is located on the Alaknanda River's bank. Another name for it is the Badrinarayan Temple. The healing virtues of Tapt Kund, located directly beneath the temple, are well known. Before entering the temple, a devotee must bathe in this sacred, hot water. Mana Village, Bheem Pull, Vyas Gufa, and Vasudhara Falls are some of the other well-known locations close to Badrinath Temple.
